Guided 3 to 4 hour eBike tour from Chaffers Dock Marina along Wellington Waterfront to Miramar Peninsula, with Māori history, harbour views and a cafe stop.

Tour Overview

This 3 to 4 hour eBike tour starts at the operator’s shop by Chaffers Dock Marina on the Wellington Waterfront, a short walk from Te Papa and the Wellington iSite. After a helmet fitting and a full introduction to riding the bike, there is space to get comfortable before setting off.

The route follows the waterfront and coastal cycle path, with your guide sharing local history and Māori stories as you ride. Early in the tour, you stop to hear about the first inhabitants of New Zealand from nearly one thousand years ago, then continue to a well known waterfront statue and the Wellington sign, where your guide explains the city’s famous wind.

You’ll ride beside the beach and along the coast at the base of Mt Victoria, with time for photos and views back across the harbour. There is also a stop at the wind needle, where you can watch the 85 foot sculpture move in the breeze and hear about New Zealand’s energy system.

At the top of Miramar Peninsula, the bikes go into turbo mode for the climb to panoramic views over Wellington and the surrounding bays. A cafe stop is included along the way, with tea or coffee provided. The tour finishes back on the waterfront, close to Te Papa and central Wellington.
