Hire a non-electric city bike from Wellington Waterfront with lock, helmet and map included, then ride via Miramar Peninsula or South Coast at your own pace.

Tour Overview

Pick up a quality non electric city bike on the Wellington Waterfront and set off at your own pace with a lock, helmet, cycle map and local advice included. Before you head out, there is space to practise riding in a wide, car free area, a useful way to get comfortable before exploring the city.

From the waterfront, you can follow a recommended route around the bays to the Miramar Peninsula, passing Scorching Bay and Seatoun, then continue to the South Coast and return through Island Bay. Standard road bikes and step thru cruiser frames are available, and the team can suggest cafe stops along the way.

Using your bike as both transport and activity, you can also plan time for Wellington attractions such as Weta Workshop, Te Papa Museum, The Cable Car, Cuba St and Zealandia. The hire base is centrally located, about a 10 minute walk from the Wellington iSite and 10 minutes from Te Papa Museum, making it easy to start your day in the centre and build your own ride from there.

Bikes are maintained by in house mechanics, with a range of sizes, styles and accessories to suit different riders and day plans.
