Hands-on tour of New Zealand Mānuka honey from hive inspection to factory processing, with tasting at The Honey Stables. Minimum two people.

Tour Overview

Follow the full journey of New Zealand Mānuka honey, from hive to jar, on a hands on tour that shows how it is made. This experience begins in The Honey Stables, where you will hear the story behind the operation and receive a health and safety briefing before being fitted with the equipment needed for the hive visit.

From there, you will join a beehive inspection and see the inner workings of the hive up close. Along the way, you will learn about the different roles bees play and what the hive looks like during production. The tour then continues into the factory, where the honey processing stage is explained step by step, following the product through to the jar.

The experience finishes back at the factory store with a honey tasting, along with an introduction to other products in the range and the reasons they have been developed.

There is a minimum of two people for this tour. Solo travellers are encouraged to get in touch, as it may be possible to join another booking.

Additional options are available by contacting the operator directly. The Botanical Experience includes a show and tell through the native tree sanctuary, and Make Your Own Honey lets you fill and label your own honey to take home. Extra time and costs apply.
