Private 7-hour wine tour from Wellington to South Wairarapa with a driver guide, Remutaka summit stop, and up to four winery visits in Gladstone and Martinborough.

Tour Overview

Travel from Wellington to the South Wairarapa on a private 7 hour wine tour with your own dedicated driver guide throughout the day. This is a private experience only, with no mixed groups, and is available for guests aged 18 and over.

The route includes a stop at the Remutaka mountain summit, 555 metres above sea level, where you can take in wide views and see the Remutaka Crossing monument. The monument commemorates the 60,000 New Zealand troops who crossed from the military camp in Featherston to the Port of Wellington between 1915 and 1918.

In the Wairarapa, the tour visits Gladstone and Martinborough wineries, with up to four winery visits across the day. In Martinborough, a town well recognised as the Capital of Pinot Noir of the North Island, you can taste a range of wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Pinot Noir Rosé, Syrah and Pinot Noir.

At Le Gra, meet owners Nicky and Brian Geary, taste up to eight wines, and, subject to viticulturist availability, walk through the vineyard before a platter lunch overlooking the Pinot Noir vines. Lunch and wines here are made on site by Nicky. The day may also include a private winery tour, vineyard access, and tastings. Cruise ship passengers should note that a slightly reduced itinerary applies.
