Cross the Remutaka Ranges to Wairarapa for five producer visits, with tastings in Featherston and Martinborough, plus a vineyard tour and tapas lunch.

Tour Overview

Travel over the Remutaka Ranges with a short stop at the Summit before descending into the Wairarapa region for a day focused on artisan food and drink. This tour brings together five producer visits, with opportunities to meet the owners and staff behind the products and hear directly from the people who make them.

The first tasting stop is C'est Cheese in Featherston, where you can sample local and imported cheeses along with gourmet foods. From there, the tour continues with a winemaker led vineyard tour that walks you through the process from vine to wine, followed by a wine tasting and tapas style lunch in the Cellar Door.

In Martinborough, you will also stop at Martinborough Brewery for a craft beer tasting paddle, choosing any four from the eight taps on offer. Another tasting stop takes you among the oldest olive trees in Martinborough, where you will learn about olive varieties, the olive growing year, and how to taste olive oil, including extra virgin and infused oils. The day finishes with a tasting at Schoc Chocolates.
