Tour Overview

Travel from Wellington to Martinborough on a 5.5 hour guided wine tour, with your professional local driver providing commentary throughout the journey. The route follows the Hutt River through the Hutt Valley, then climbs over the Remutaka Ranges, giving you a sense of the landscape before you reach the Wairarapa valley.

Along the way, there are sightseeing stops at the Stuart Macaskill Lakes and the Remutaka Summit, 555 metres above sea level. When time allows, there is also the option to stop at C’est Cheese for a cheese tasting and to pick up a snack for the road.

In Martinborough, you will visit three of the town’s wineries for cellar door experiences. Each winery visit lasts between 15 and 45 minutes, and cellar door staff will introduce a selection of wines for you to sample at your discretion. The focus is on tasting and learning about the wines in a relaxed setting, with time to enjoy the character of one of New Zealand’s well known wine regions.
