See Wellington’s key sights on a fully escorted full day tour that combines city landmarks, coastal scenery, and a choice of guided afternoon experience.

The day includes a ride on the iconic Wellington Cable Car, first opened to passengers in 1902. After travelling to the top and visiting the museum there, you can take in wide views across the harbour and city. An easy walk through the Botanic Gardens follows, with time to wander around the Lady Norwood Rose Garden. At the Tree Top Walkway, your guide leads you 20 metres above the forest floor for a bird’s-eye view of rimu and tawa trees, with chances to spot native birds in the canopy. There is also a stop at Mt Victoria lookout for another 360 degree view of Wellington City.

In the city, the tour visits the Parliament Buildings and the front of the building, with time to learn some of the area’s history. You will also stop at Old St Paul’s Cathedral, a noted example of Gothic Revival architecture, with the opportunity to go inside during a short visit.

Other highlights include a drive through downtown Wellington, the rocky coastline, and the Wahine Memorial. Lunch is at a seaside cafe, at your own cost. Later, choose between a guided Weta Cave Tour or a guided visit to Zealandia Wildlife Sanctuary.
