Tour Overview

See Wellington on a private sightseeing tour led by knowledgeable local guides, with pickup and drop-off available from your hotel, airport, or cruise ship. Travel in a luxury vehicle with bottled water included, and explore the city at a relaxed pace.

The tour includes a stop at Mount Victoria, where 360 degree views stretch across Wellington City, the harbour, and the ocean to the south. In Miramar, visit the Wētā Cave, a free mini-museum with film artefacts, prop replicas, sculptures, art prints, and apparel created by Weta Workshop artists. Nearby, the art deco cinema in Wellington’s movie-making capital adds another layer to the area’s film identity.

You’ll also see Old St Paul’s, first opened in 1866 and built entirely of native timbers. This former Anglican cathedral is known for its wooden Gothic Revival architecture and remains a place of spiritual significance. The Wellington Cable Car, a recognised symbol of the city, links Lambton Quay with Kelburn and climbs 120 metres above the central city.

Along the waterfront, the tour takes in Oriental Bay, Wellington’s most popular beach, with its long history of reclamation, early settlement, and public amenities. You may also pass Clyde Quay Apartments, the former overseas terminal, and enjoy coastal views as you drive around the shoreline.
