A Taste of Kapiti - Kapiti Foodie Delights Tour

Travel from Wellington on a 7-hour private tour of the Kāpiti Coast with your own dedicated driver guide. The day begins at the top of Paekakariki Hill, where wide views stretch over the Kapiti Coast and Kapiti Island. On a clear day, you may also see the top of the South Island, Mt Taranaki/Egmont and Mt Ruapehu.

From there, the focus turns to the region’s food and drink. Learn how coffee moves from bean to cup during a hands-on roasting experience, then enjoy a cup at the end and take home a packet of your own freshly roasted coffee. In a private room overlooking the chocolate factory, sample artisan chocolates and hear what goes into making them.

The tour also includes a stop at Passo on the Kāpiti Coast, a Taste of Sicily created by chef Michele Passarello. You’ll taste locally distilled limoncello and gin with the owner and chief distiller, then visit Kāpiti Olives for a walk through the olive grove with owners Diana and Grant Crosse. Here, you’ll sample gold medal extra virgin olive oils including Leccino, Koroneiki, Picual and Frantoio.

The day finishes with locally produced gelato at Lamoon Gelato, Raumati Beach. For cruise ship passengers, this tour operates on a slightly reduced itinerary.
